Vanta

Rooms measured in light, silence, and how a person turns the corner. Not in square metres.

The practice

Build less. Let the void do some of the work.

Vanta designs houses, galleries, and workspaces where structure recedes and daylight becomes the furniture. This page is a cinematic one-file template: replace the copy, keep the motion.

House on the ridge

A concrete frame that only appears at dusk, when the copper edge picks up the last hour of sun.

Reading hall

A long room with no ceiling lights. The stacks are the shade; the windows are the lamps.

Studio for one

A workshop that can close into a single wall of timber. Made for people who need quiet more than storage.

Selected spaces

Scroll to travel the reel.

Vertical scroll moves the work sideways. CSS volumes stand in for photographs until you drop in your own.

Approach

Four moves, then we stop drawing.

01

Walk the site at two hours

Once in hard sun, once when the street goes quiet. The brief is whatever the light already decided.

02

One massing, not twelve options

We argue with a single volume until it earns the openings. Extra schemes are how projects lose their nerve.

03

Materials you can name

Lime, timber, copper, glass. If a finish needs a brochure to explain itself, it does not belong in the room.

04

Handover with the silence intact

Drawings, a short film of the light, and a list of what must never be added later.

Commission

A site, a constraint, a season.

Tell Vanta what the room has to protect. This demo form does not send mail until you connect it.
