How we estimate website design cost

This small business website cost model assumes a straightforward professionally built site, supplied text and images, a responsive layout and standard tools. The base allowance is €250–€900 for one page, plus €75–€250 per additional page. Selected feature allowances are listed in your result; providers often bundle these tasks, so the breakdown is a budgeting aid, not separate mandatory charges.

The model adds €50–€150 for a contact form, €250–€800 for a blog, €100–€300 for basic SEO, €50–€150 for analytics, €100–€400 for a booking embed, €700–€2,500 for a small shop, and €100–€400 per extra simple embed. Custom functionality adds a provisional €1,000–€5,000 allowance and always needs a discovery conversation; complex projects can exceed this range.

These are Designyff’s editorial planning assumptions, independent of our package prices. They are not a survey or currency conversion of another provider’s prices. For broader context, GoDaddy’s website cost guide explains how DIY, professional design and ongoing fees differ. This calculator focuses on the professional design and build portion.

The estimate excludes taxes, hosting, domains, paid plugins and subscriptions, copywriting, photography, ongoing SEO and large content migrations. Ask each provider what is included and whether tax applies to their quote.

Plan for website maintenance cost

Keep ongoing costs separate from your build budget. Hosting, domain renewals, software subscriptions and the amount of support you need determine your ongoing spend.

Designyff’s optional Website Care is €39/month (€468 over 12 months). It includes hosting, monitoring, applicable updates and up to 30 minutes of small content changes per month. Unused time does not roll over. New pages and functionality are separate. Without Care, you arrange hosting yourself.

Website pricing FAQ

How much does a website cost for a small business?

A simple supplied-content website can cost a few hundred euros; more pages, publishing tools and shop functionality can take the budget into several thousand. Use the calculator to explore the scope, then obtain quotes for your actual requirements.

Is this estimate a quote?

No. It is a planning range based on the assumptions above. Content, design complexity, accessibility requirements, migrations and local rates can change the final price. No provider is committed to this estimate.

Are blogs, booking and ecommerce included in Designyff packages?

A straightforward existing booking or newsletter embed may fit Business Pro, subject to scope confirmation. A blog with an editor, ecommerce, custom APIs, accounts, complex automation and more than 10 pages need a separate discussion. Do not buy a fixed-price package assuming those extras are included.

Why can a fixed-price package differ from the estimate?

The estimate covers a broad range of providers and implementation choices. Designyff packages have specific page limits, revision rounds and integration limits, and require you to supply content. A cheaper or more expensive quote is not automatically better; compare deliverables, support and exclusions.

Does basic SEO include ongoing marketing?

No. It covers initial page titles, descriptions, heading structure and indexing essentials. Content campaigns, keyword research and ranking improvements need separate work and budgets.

Do I have to pay monthly for a website?

The Designyff design fee is paid once. Website Care is optional and starts at purchase, renewing monthly until cancelled. Even without Care, you should budget for hosting, domain renewal and any paid external services.
